Cinnamon rolls. A baker’s gift to the world, am I right? Here are the top three places to get a BOMB cinnamon roll in Northern Colorado:
- The General Store in Glen Haven, CO. A beautiful mountainy drive (15 min up the Big Thompson Canyon from Loveland, 15 min from Estes Park) + a cute little town (and I mean little) + THE BEST CINNAMON ROLLS IN THE WORLD. What more could you ask for? (Hint: nothing.)
- Verns in LaPorte, CO. Hit up Lorry Park and hike off those calories afterwards.
- Johnson’s Corner in Johnstown, CO. The most controversial of the list. Not it’s appearance here, but rather it’s placement. I’m sorry, you Johnson’s Corner fans, but third place is not a mistake. You make the drive to Glen Haven and if you still think these are better, we can talk.
Honestly, no matter the order I’ll eat any of these, any time, any place. I’d like to shake the person’s hand that thought of cinnamon rolls. And donut holes (but that’s a whole other post!).

Hmmmmm…never had the ones in Glen Haven. I will have to make a stop sometime. I am surprised that the Silver Grill rolls did not make your list. (Now I will be thinking about cinnamon rolls all night….) Thanks for sharing.
I always thought the Silver Grill ones were from Johnson’s Corner? Maybe I’m wrong, in which case they def belong in this list (plus they have proximity going for them!). You should totally try the ones in Glen Haven (and there is an adorable shop a few doors down from the General Store called Leah’s you should check out!).
I’ve had Vern’s and Johnson’s Corner Cinnamon rolls! They were really good (Vern’s more so)! However, I still think that my mom’s homemade cinnamon (caramel) rolls are the absolute best!
I haven’t been to any of these places, but this is a great topic for a blog post. I like cinnamon rolls even though I don’t eat them very often.
Hey I love cinnamon rolls and this is on my to do list for Thanksgiving Break :) haha yuuuummmy!!
I think you just inspired me to take my parents on a taste testing tour when they get here for thanksgiving (get some outside opinions!).
